Daniel Baer, the U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), married his partner Brian Walsh in Vienna, Austria on Saturday.
Baer is the seventh openly LGBT person appointed by President Barack Obama and the first to a multilateral institution.
Baer’s appointment to the OSCE last year was one of five high profile diplomatic positions awarded to openly gay men by the Obama Administration during the president’s second term.
He and Walsh now reside in Vienna where the OSCE headquarters is located.
