Kristen Kish, the 2012 winner of Top Chef and only the second female in the show’s history to win the title, has come out, revealing in a New York Times profile that she is in a relationship with another woman.

Kish’s partner is Jacqueline Westbrook, who is the assistant to the Food & Wine editor in chief, Dana Cowin.

Kish confirmed the quiet announcement in the Times by posting a photo on Instagram of her and Westbrook during a helicopter ride over Charleston.

“Happy 1 year love. You’ve made me incredibly happy,” was the caption.
