HARRISBURG, Pa. — While lawsuits challenging Pennsylvania’s ban on same-sex marriage make their way through state and federal courts, a state lawmaker says he plans legislation to grant same-sex couples the right to divorce.

Rep. Mike Schlossberg of Lehigh County said this week he will introduce a divorce-equality bill within the next few weeks, reports the Philadelphia Gay News.

Schlossberg hopes to gain 20-25 co-sponsors when he introduces the bill, but doubts the measure will make it out of committee and onto the House floor.
