GaymerX says no more LGBT gamer conferences, citing lack of sponsorhip

Organizers of the GaymerX conference for LGBT gamers and developers have announced that this year’s conference in San Francisco will be its last for the foreseeable future, citing a lack of sponsorship.

“This decision was not made lightly, but one that was made after spending much time looking over numbers, and realizing that trying to create a mega-event of this size, and trying to grow it at the pace that we were trying to keep was becoming unsustainable,” the group said.

“One of the biggest issues has been the lack of sponsorship – we have had a very tough time finding sponsors for our events, at least ones who are willing to put money towards the event.”

The San Francisco event is July 11 to July 13, and is the organization’s second conference.
