‘Boy wonder,’ scientist and inventor Jack Andraka profiled on ‘60 Minutes’

Jack Andraka, the 16-year-old “boy wonder” inventor, scientist, and cancer researcher who was profiled by LGBTQ Nation last month, was the subject of a new “60 Minutes” feature that aired on CBS Sunday night.

At age 15, Jack developed a test that detects an increase of a protein that indicates the presence of pancreatic, ovarian, and lung cancer during early stages of the diseases when there is a higher likelihood of a cure.

In case you missed either, LGBTQ Nation’s feature is here; you can watch Morley Safer’s report for “60 Minutes” here:

The “60 Minutes” report makes no mention that Jack is openly gay.
