Transgender woman who appeared in online reality series found murdered

FONTANA, Calif. — A transgender woman was found murdered in her Southern California apartment on Tuesday, with evidence of a violent struggle.

Police identified the victim as Domonique Newburn, 32, an aspiring actress who starred in the 2010 YouTube series “Hollywood House Boys,” a show about gay and transgender friends. Newburn was described in the series as undergoing gender reassignment.

Investigators said there current are no idications that Newburn’s murder was a hate crime, but added they do not yet have a motive for the crime.

KCBS-TV reports:

Neighbors say they only knew Newburn as a woman, and described her as “very quiet, and very nice.”
