Clinton and Callum’s special day: ‘Love conquers all’ (Video)

On November 16, 2012, Australians Clinton Bryan and Callum Mathieson were married in Sydney. While they know that technically they did not get “married,” because same-sex marriage is not yet legal in Australia, their special day was treated as such by a supportive network of family and friends.

Clinton and Callum share their story “with a hope that in some small way this may help someone struggling with their sexuality or bullying by showing them an example of what could be if they just stay strong — a sort of ‘It gets better’ message.”

“While this was such a personal and special day for Callum and I, we understand that what it represents is bigger than us.” says Clinton.

“If sharing it helps anyone with their current views or encourages them to be brave, it was worth it. Hopefully Australia will take New Zealand’s new development on marriage equality on board and into their own view, opinions and discussions.”
