COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four organizations serving the needs of Ohioans living with AIDS or HIV-related diseases have won approval from the state for grants totaling more than $1.2 million.
The Ohio Development Services Agency says the grants will serve more than 2,600 people. The money is part of a federal program administered by the state.
AIDS Resource Center Ohio in Montgomery County will receive more than $950,000 to provide housing and supportive housing services to individuals living with AIDS or HIV in the cities of Athens, Dayton, Lima, Mansfield, and Toledo as well as in surrounding areas.
Funding helps provide rental, mortgage and utility assistance and other services.
Other grant awardees include: Community AIDS Network in Summit County; Community Services of Stark County, Inc.; and COMPASS Family and Community Services in Mahoning County.
