BUFFALO, N.Y. — In what many journalists and pundits are labeling “political porn,” a flyer has been circulated via e-mail that attacks New York State Sen. Mark Grisanti, one of four Republicans who voted to legalize same-sex marriage in the Empire State a year ago.
The flyer, which has yet to appear in any voter’s mailboxes in Grisanti’s Erie County Senatorial district, accuses him of being a “political whore,” and asks “how far will a politician go to get in your pants?”
On the reverse (below), the mailer states: “Make sure your Son [sic] says, ‘Thank you, Mark Grisanti.’”
The flyer appears to be a direct mail piece, and claims it was paid for by the “Committee to Save the Erie County Republican Party.” A Google search Monday revealed nothing about the committee, and it wasn’t immediately clear who is sponsoring the group.
Buzzfeed political reporter Chris Geidner said he is chasing down rumors that it may have come from a failed Buffalo mayoral candidate, and labeled the flyer “the most anti-gay piece of political mail this year.”
Grisanti has been the subject of relentless attacks by the National Organization For Marriage for switching his vote to support same-sex marriage at the last minute.
“I cannot legally come up with an argument against same-sex marriage,” Grisanti, as the bill was being debated in Albany in June 2011. “Who am I to say that someone does not have the same rights that I have with my wife, who I love, or to have the 1,300-plus rights that I share with her.”
Grisanti, along with the three other Republican senators who backed the New York’s same-sex marriage legislation, were expected to face challenges over their votes, as are other candidates who have supported same-sex marriage elsewhere in the nation.

Are we sure this is an anti-gay flyer? Sure looks like a HOT pro-gay flyer to me!
So much for the “family friendly” rhetoric. Other than that, what’s the problem?
It’s really the reverse side that comes across as anti-gay.
That is very childish. I thought Politicians were supposed to be the adults here? I applaud Grisanti for his decision and for his decision to stand up to the ire of his fellow republicans.
I just find it funny for a party or a group promoting “wholesome family values” (which really means the 50′s TV family which never existed) and materials that “raise the bar” on the secular to promote their twisted version of Jesus with a flyer like that. Looks like hypocrisy to me.
wrong on so many levels
Using passion to oppose love and commitment. A new low.
The thug mentality of the Rethuglifool party demands that they make him pay for bucking their bigotry…
the Senator’s quote.
THAT’S what a politician should be looking at, no matter what party. He supports it not because of his beliefs, but because he can’t find anything wrong with it purely legally.
I would say this is disgraceful, but that’d ridiculous since Republican and disgraceful are synonymous these days…
Picture this – a room of str8 right wing married men, sitting in an office together, spent hours together, looking through gay porn pics to pick just the right ones. They didn’t just go with random shots, it looks obvious to me they lingered and took the time to make it look slick and sexy. Did they go with the ones they thought were hot? They picked some pretty hot young men. Looks like their personal taste ran more towards twinks. Now thats a picture in my head of repressed homosexual desire.
one more thing, if the picture used is an image of “gay marriage” as it claims to be. I’d like to ask the creator of that politcal ad to show me his wedding pictures? Are they half naked also?
God, its not about sex, its about love! WTF!
RIGHT Eric Green. Related but different. Shit like this makes me sick.
white guys loves white and latino guys with whiter skinned. they said, “no asians please” on profile. it’s not LOVE……
ALL politicians are POLITICAL WHORES. Stupid ad.
@ Jeffrey Thomas: Awesome, lol
the pics are pretty hot
It sounds like the hate group NOM to me.
Another coward group hiding.
Seriously: Do you think this pamphlet won’t backfire? What family wants to have their seven-year-old child fish this out of the mailbox?! &-{/}
if they did heist this photo, the individuals can sue for unlawful image rights. if they didnt then they staged the photo, and spend way to much time thinking about men having sex. can anyone say closet homo’s?
