EDGEWATER PARK, N.J. — The owner of a New Jersey Bed & Breakfast on Monday posted an anti-gay rant on Facebook asserting that “God invented AIDS” to punish gays after a local woman complained about an anti-gay statement on the marquee outside their inn.
The sign, posted outside the Whitebriar Bed & Breakfast in Edgewater Park, N.J., indicated the Inn’s support of a planned, nationwide “Chick-fil-A” day by anti-marriage equality patrons, followed by the message, “Marriage, One Man, One Woman, One God.”
The sign caught the attention — and ire — of local neighbor Joianne Fraschilla, an out lesbian, who posted this message on Facebook: “This is somewhere my son loves to pass by and we have been excited to visit. Not anymore. I’m sad to see a local business anti LGBT marriage.”

Lokan-Moore, who shares ownership of the Inn with her husband Bill Moore, was a 2011 Republican candidate for the New Jersey state Senate, who lost after receiving less than 10 percent of the vote.
Undeterred, Fraschilla has now started a Change.org petition hoping to force the Whitebriar B&B owners to apologize saying, “I believe that everyone has the right to their own opinion, but to demonize them [LGBT people] with hurtful words in a public forum is inhumane.”
When contacted by LGBTQ Nation Monday, the Inn owners refused comment.

I am a straight woman who believes in God, but I believe that God, especially the one that (most) religious people believe in, would NEVER hate gay people. Why would He? What are they doing that hurts anyone? NOTHING! Do I think God approves of child molesters and rapeists? NO WAY! But being gay does not mean you’re either of those just as much as being straight does. In my experience, I’ve found gay people to be more friendly, kind, and genuine people than straight people! My parents are very good friends with a gay couple who are FAMILY to us and who we call “Uncle John” and “Uncle Jeff”. I’m almost 9 months pregnant with a little boy and I’ll love him the same whether he’s gay, straight, bi, transgender, or questioning!
