Joel Osteen: Homosexuality is a sin, now and 200 years from now

“Homosexuality is a sin — I believed it before, and I still believe it now,” says Joel Osteen.

Appearing Tuesday on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” Osteen, the pastor of mammoth Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, said his beliefs are rooted in scripture. “Two hundred years from now, the scripture is still going to say that [homosexuality is a sin].

Morgan challenged Osteen’s interpretation of the Bible by asking him if quoting scripture to condemn homosexuality was simply endorsing outdated customs.

In a 2010 appearance on “The View,” Osteen said gays were “not God’s best.”
