Fox News: CA bill that would require teaching of LGBT history is ‘propaganda’

LGBT watchdog group “Equality Matters” is taking Fox News to task for maligning the facts relating to California’s FAIR Education Act, a landmark bill that would require the teaching of LGBT history in public schools.

The bill — also known as the “Fair, Accurate, Inclusive and Respectful Education Act” — would require classroom text books and other instructional materials used in public schools to include the historical contributions of gays, lesbians and transgender Americans.

The requirement is consistent with California law, which already requires schools to teach about women, African Americans, Mexican Americans, entrepreneurs, Asian Americans, European Americans, American Indians and labor.

The bill, approved in the California Assembly last week, is also designed to provide students awareness and education in order to reduce LGBT bullying.

But Fox News does not see it the same way.

Fox consistently misinformed viewers about the bill, calling it a “shocking lesson plan” that would present students with “propaganda” and force them to learn that people “can have more than one gender or no gender at all.”

Brian Kilmeade, co-host of Fox News’ Fox & Friends, spoke volumes about Fox’s view of LGBT people when he wondered “should public school teachers be ordered to tell their students why it’s okay to be gay?”:

In this exchange, Tucker Carlson claims the Fair Education Act “would teach kids politically charged facts that are not the whole story.” In other words, the bill would contribute to indoctrination.

This is not the first time that Fox News has promoted the homosexual indoctrination theory.

Earlier this year, Fox News hosted Bryan Fischer, a spokesman for the anti-gay American Family Association spokesperson, to discuss homosexual product placement in the hit television show, Glee.

Fox News has also hosted other LGBT hating groups including Focus On The Family, The Traditional Values Coalition, and The Family Research Council.

Frankly, its not hard to see that these groups use Fox News as a spring board to promote their hate-filled values, including indoctrination theories.
