Lt. Dan Choi, the openly gay Army veteran and gay rights activist who was discharged under the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, has been hospitalized after suffering a breakdown.
“I was involuntarily committed to the Brockton MA Veterans Hospital Psychiatric Ward on Friday Morning after experiencing a breakdown and anxiety attack,” Choi wrote in an e-mail Tuesday to blogger Pam Spaulding, editor of Pam’s House Blend.
Choi, an Iraq veteran, has become the most visible face in the fight to repeal the U.S. ban on openly gay service members.
